A little bit about me
Hello!
I’m Janet Armstrong

Founder of Circle of Prayer Ministries and author of Identity Through Prayer, I help women and believers everywhere reconnect with God through the power of prayer. Whether you’re in a season of struggle, healing, or growth—I’m here to remind you that intimacy with Jesus changes everything.
Prayer changed everything for me. It’s where I found healing, clarity, and the identity God always intended for me. It’s also where He began to shape the calling on my life—one that continues to grow, stretch, and humble me every day.
I live in Northwest Indiana with my husband Merlin, my steady encourager and partner in both life and ministry. Together, we’ve watched God move through home prayer gatherings, church altars, and conference platforms as I’ve followed the call to intercede, teach, and pour into others.
That passion was ignited in 1999 during a New Year’s Eve prayer meeting that forever marked my journey. Since then, I’ve served with Women’s Aglow International, become an ordained minister, and earned my prayer counseling certificate—all so I can help others experience the same breakthrough and intimacy I found in His presence.
“We were created to abide in Him. Prayer is where we come alive.”
My Heart Is for Intimacy
Building Deeper Connection with Jesus
Intimacy with God is the foundation of everything. I believe we were created to walk closely with Him—not just in church settings, but in our daily lives. My heart is to help others encounter the presence of God through prayer, stillness, and surrender. When we draw near, He meets us there.
Teaching Others to Pray with Confidence
Whether you’re new to prayer or have been praying for years, I want to encourage and equip you to pray with boldness. Through teachings, blogs, and personal stories, I share what I’ve learned over two decades as a prophetic intercessor: how to hear God’s voice, pray Scripture, and stand in faith for breakthrough.
Creating Safe Spaces for Healing and Growth
Circle of Prayer Ministries is a reflection of God’s heart—welcoming, nurturing, and full of grace. This also means our soil is filled with the necessary nutrients for Godly change and the production of Godly fruit. We are a place for you to be poured into, to grow spiritually, and to stand in community with others who long to go deeper in Christ.

Why “Circle?”

The name Circle of Prayer came straight from the heart of God during a time of prayer and reflection. When I asked the Lord what to call this ministry, He began to show me the beauty and power of the circle:
A circle has no beginning and no end—just like God’s love. It surrounds, protects, and connects. That’s what prayer does. When we pray, we step into an eternal flow of His love—pouring out and being poured into.
The Lord also gave me a picture of a spiritual recycling bin: as we pour out in prayer, God fills us back up. It’s a continuous exchange of grace, strength, and healing—between heaven and earth, and between each other.
The circle also represents unity and standing in the gap. Scripture tells us in Ezekiel 22:30 that God looked for someone to “stand in the gap.” That’s what this ministry is about: being that someone, surrounding others with prayer, and creating a covering where people can be strengthened and restored.
Support the Mission
If this ministry has encouraged you, consider giving to help us reach more people with biblical teaching and prayer support. Every contribution helps keep the work going.
Identity Through Prayer
Identity Through Prayer was born in one of the most intimate seasons of my life with the Lord. I didn’t sit down to write a book—I was just journaling my heart, crying out to God, and learning who I truly was in Him.
During that time, I was a wife, a mom with young kids, and working full-time. Life was full—but so was my hunger to know Jesus. And in those quiet moments of seeking Him, the Holy Spirit began pouring out words I couldn’t stop writing. Page after page, He was healing me, revealing my identity, and drawing me deeper into intimacy through prayer.
This book is for anyone who feels lost, weary, or disconnected—anyone who wants to rekindle their fire for God. Whether you’re a seasoned believer or just beginning your walk, Identity Through Prayer is an invitation to slow down, seek Him, and discover who you really are in Christ.
“Every page was a moment of healing. Prayer didn’t just change my situation—it changed me.”
